Roy Keane believes Manchester United’s ‘real quality’ shone through in their win at old rivals Leeds United.

The Red Devils went into the Elland Road clash looking to move on from a surprisingly below-par display in 2-2 draw against the Whites in midweek.

They were given some awkward moments by their managerless hosts on Sunday afternoon but belatedly opened the scoring with what was a well-worked goal from Marcus Rashford with ten minutes remaining.

A wonderful first touch and cross from England left-back Luke Shaw allowed the in-form striker to head home his 20th goal of the season and lay the foundations for a win that takes his side without five points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Speaking of the goal after the game, former United captain Keane told Sky Sports: “It’s brilliant, brilliant quality, a great switch of play.

“We were waiting for United, they still hadn’t done much up to this point. A lovely switch of play, a brilliant first touch by Shaw, lovely delivery, Rashford, love to see that headed goal. Brilliant from United. Real quality, that’s what we wanted to see.”

Argentinean youngster Alejandro Garnacho continued to show his quality when he came off the bench to secure all three points for Erik ten Hag’s men with a clinical finish that beat Leeds keeper Illan Meslier at his near post.

Keane hailed the youngster’s impact and insisted his old club at claimed a ‘fully deserved’ win at Elland Road.

“He give a good option from the bench. Lovely finish. People always criticise goalkeepers, say they shouldn’t be beaten at the near post but I think it’s a decent finish. The defender thinks he’s got him, but he hasn’t got the pace to catch up with him. It’s game over, a very good result for United and fully deserved.”
