"Noticed a change" - La Liga veteran jokingly proposes unique method of signing Man Utd flop permanently
Man United winger Antony is on loan at Real Betis until the summer transfer window when he’ll return to United.
Manchester United look set to see several players sold in the summer transfer window, with one name being Antony who’s currently out on loan at La Liga side Real Betis until the end of the season.

Since moving to Betis, Antony has seen an upturn in form, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 12 appearances for the club. It has been much improved since the first half of the season at United.
There isn’t an option to buy Antony for Betis, meaning that he will return to Old Trafford in the summer. United will likely either loan him back out or sell him, as they need to sell him for at least £32 million in order to avoid making a loss regarding PSR.
Antony’s teammate urges Man United transfer move
The Brazilian helped the La Liga side to a 2-1 win against Sevilla on Sunday night, and afterwards, his teammate Isco praised him and urged the winger to stay at Betis long-term.
The former Real Madrid midfielder said in an interview with DAZN: “We have to do one of those crowdfunding campaigns to see if we can bring him in for at least one more year. I'm happy to enjoy Antony.
“The truth is that he has surprised us all with the humility with which he arrived, with his desire to help, to contribute. The truth is that we are very happy. We have noticed a change since he arrived, and we are very happy for him, for the team, and eager to continue doing things well."
Antony has been playing for Betis as a right winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Isco playing alongside him in the three behind the striker. The Brazilian has fitted in far better with the Spanish side than he did at Man United under Amorim who plays a 3-4-3 formation.
There is a chance that he could go back out on loan to Betis in the summer as his performances may not warrant a £32m transfer fee as of yet. If United can loan him back out and increase his market value, they may be more willing to sell him permanently in January or summer 2026.
Antony has no buy option unlike Rashford
The biggest blow as far as Real Betis are concerned is that there is no option for them to buy Antony after his loan spell at the club ends.
However, for fellow loaned-out United player Marcus Rashford, there is a very different tale. Rashford scored his first goal for Aston Villa in their 3-0 FA Cup win against Preston North End.
The attacker has had a resurgence in form at Villa, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 10 games for the Midlands club. He also received his first England call-up of the year after Thomas Tuchel got him back into the National Team.
Unlike Antony, there is a buy option in Rashford’s loan deal at Villa. They can pay £40 million to sign him at the end of the season should they consider him to be worth the money. Based on his performances so far, a move to Villa could be on the cards for the England international.
