Man Utd welcomed two injured stars back to training in midweek ahead of their trip to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Rasmus Hojlund is not getting carried away after his return to Manchester United training in midweek.

United were handed a huge double fitness boost on Wednesday when both Hojlund and Mason Mount participated in first-team training ahead of their weekend trip to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Hojlund has been out of action since he suffered a hamstring injury 15 minutes into the first game of the USA tour, while Mount suffered a minor injury in the away defeat to Brighton last month.

Erik ten Hag is set to address the fitness situation of his squad when he speaks to the press on Thursday afternoon, though Danish forward Hojlund has already warned supporters to be patient with his latest injury recovery.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday evening, the 21-year-old spoke of his delight to be back on the training pitch, before easing expectations ahead of his potential return this weekend. “I guess being a football player the caption should be ‘happy to be on the pitch again’, but I think the photo says it all," he wrote in the caption of a picture of he and Mount.

Alejandro Garnacho responded with a one-word message saying: "Finally", to which Hojlund replied: “Don’t jinx it," given there is still plenty of work to be done before he can be considered match fit.

United are expected to stick with Marcus Rashford from the start for their trip to Selhurst Park this weekend, with Ten Hag well cautious of rushing injured players back too quickly ahead of a bumper fixture schedule.
