Premier League 2022/23 home table: How Man Utd & Man City compare to Arsenal, Liverpool & more- gallery

Manchester United and Manchester City boasted two of the best home records in the Premier League this season.

Manchester proved to be a tough city for visiting sides in the Premier League over the course of the 2022/23 campaign.

In fact, from the 36 matches in which sides travelled to Manchester this season, only twice did an opposition team come away from Old Trafford or the Etihad with three points. For Manchester United, they suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign, but went 18 unbeaten over the rest of the league term.

Including cup competitions, United played a remarkable 33 matches at Old Trafford during this season, and Erik ten Hag’s side won 27 of those, drew four and only lost twice. As well as the defeat to Brighton, the only other loss came in September as United were beaten 1-0 by Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

As for Manchester City, they lost just one home game during ‘22/23 and that came against Brentford in November. City have been phenomenal in front of their own fans this season and have won the last 16 in a row at the Etihad in all competitions.

That run also included some memorable scalps, with City beating Real Madrid 4-0 and Arsenal 4-1. There was also the 3-0 victory Pep Guardiola’s men had against Bayern Munich, as well as putting seven past RB Leipzig at the Etihad in the Champions League.
