Manchester City and Manchester United are both represented in WhoScoed’s Premier League team of the week.

Manchester City and Manchester United got three players in the WhoScored Premier League team of the week after the first round of action.

Both Manchester clubs managed to pick up three points at the first time of asking, though in very different fashion. City made relatively easy work of Burnley away from home, winning 3-0, while United limped past Wolves with a 1-0 win, though they did get some help from the officials at Old Trafford after the visitors were controversially denied a stoppage-time penalty.

Either way, both sides will be pleased to get that first win in the books, and they can now concentrate on attempting to make it six from six this weekend.

There were some headline-making performances in the Premier League over the weekend, but three Manchester players have still made the cut, with two from City and one from United. Erling Haaland’s presence in the WhoScored team of the week will surprise no one after his two goals, and he partners Alexander Isak of Newcastle United up top.

City’s Rodri is joined by Jarrod Bowen, Pascal Gross and Matheus Nunes in midfield. Despite losing to United, Wolves have two players in the team of the week, which may say a lot about Monday night’s Old Trafford clash. Matt Dawson is the second Wolves star to make the cut, with Pervis Estupinan, Joachin Anderson and United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka also making the cut , with Fulham’s Bert Leno the goalkeeper.

Rodri was the best-rated Premier League player with a rating of nine, while Haaland scored 8.6 and Wan-bissaka 8.3.

City now take on Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup before facing Newcastle in a mouth-watering Premier League clash, while United face Tottenham this weekend, with Spurs kicking off their campaign with a draw against Brentford.
