VAR decisions have caused plenty of controversy and debate in the Premier League this season

The use and application of VAR in the Premier League became a talking point yet again following the latest round of top-flight action, as Manchester City moved to the top of the table while there was a much-needed win for Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes struck late on to help the Red Devils claim a 1-0 win at Fulham, in a fixture that saw Scott McTominay's early goal ruled out after an offside from Harry Maguire. The length of time to reach the decision proved a point of contention but United overcame the setback to bank all three points.

City hammered Bournemouth 6-1 on a weekend that saw Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both lose while Liverpool could only draw at Luton Town. VAR was involved in both games involving the North London clubs with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta hitting out at the technology for allowing Anthony Gordon's goal to stand as they lost 1-0 at Newcastle United.
