How would the current standings change without results impacted by VAR so far this season?

The Premier League has paused for the return of international football and fans will now have to wait until September 14th and 15th for England’s top flight domestic action to resume.

Last time out, Manchester City extended their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 win over West Ham to keep their spot at the top of the table. Pep Guardiola’s side have secured maximum points from their opening three fixtures and are ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back after the international break with a much-needed win. The Red Devils are currently 14th in the table after picking up a win and two losses so far. Their most recent 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford came after a frustrating 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

United were denied a point against the Seagulls when what looked to be an Alejandro Garnacho goal was ruled offside after VAR ruled the ball had come into contact with Joshua Zirkzee before crossing the line. Brighton then went on to snatch the winner in the dying embers of the match, denying the Reds anything from their Amex Stadium visit.

The ever-divisive technology has already faced criticism following early decisions this campaign, so we’ve taken a look at how the current league standings might look without its influence.

We’ve factored in all the VAR decisions made so far that have gone on to impact a scoreline, and adjusted the table accordingly. Take a look below at how the Premier League table would look without VAR’s recent calls on goals.
