Player Manchester United rejected to sign for £21m 'agrees' £15m move to join ex-Red Devils coach
Sofyan Amrabat is set for a move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe after Manchester United rejected an option to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of last season.
The midfielder joined the Red Devils from Fiorentina on a season-long loan with an option to buy for around £21m last summer but after failing to impress at Old Trafford, United opted against activating their option to make the move permanent.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that the move will be an initial loan with a fee of €2m while an obligation to buy for €13m has been agreed with add-ons of up to €3m included for a total just over £15m. Amrabat has agreed a four-year deal.
The Morocco international had started both of Fiorentina’s Serie A games so far this season and featured in the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying. He made 30 appearances for United last season, starting in four of the club’s six Champions League games but he played just 21 times in the Premier League with 10 starts and 11 appearances off the bench.
Ten Hag praised Amrabat after his move last summer. He said upon the player’s arrival: “It's very good to have him and I think he fits very good to Premier League football, to Champions League football. I think the demands are strong. He is very dynamic, he’s very good in the duels. So we are pleased that we have him at United and I think he will contribute to our high targets we set.”
However, United have opted for a different option to bolster their defensive midfield going forward with a deal for Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. An initial fee of €50m (£42m), and a further €10m (£8m) in potential add-ons has been agreed and the player has since travelled to Manchester and it’s believed he underwent his medical on Wednesday.
