Man Utd have been without the £52 million signing ever since pre-season.

Leny Yoro says he is 'on the way back' in his latest Manchester United injury update.

The 18-year-old defender has yet to make a competitive appearance for his new club after he fractured his metatarsal in the first half of the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles back in July. Yoro underwent successful surgery at the beginning of August to address the problem and it was originally hoped he could return to action in November.

In his latest injury update, the French defender took to social media on Wednesday and uploaded a video of himself jogging on a treadmill along with the caption: 'on the way back.'

United will not rush Yoro into action after such a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but his fitness update is a huge boost to under fire manager Erik ten Hag, who has high hopes for the centre-back.

United signed Yoro from Lille until 2029 in a deal worth £52.18m with a further £6.73m in potential add-ons believe he can develop into one of the best defenders in the world

Last month, Ten Hag issued an update on the centre-back ahead of his possible return next month: "Yes, he is doing very well. It is very pleasing that his rehab is going in the right direction and I expect him soon, but what I mean by soon, is that he is now in the right planning process. He is in the right spot and he will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training."
