Erik ten Hag’s future as manager of Manchester United is reportedly not up for discussion despite a run of five defeats in their last seven games in all competitions.
Turkish side Galatasaray came from behind to win 3-2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night to leave United bottom of their Champions League group with some fans booing the performance.
However, The Guardian reports Ten Hag’s future is secure for now with the club’s decision makers still retaining belief the Dutchman is the right manager for the long term. It is also claimed Ten Hag will get more patience due to club’s injury situation this season, with a number of players missing games already this term.
A club’s backing is not always a guarantee of job security, however, with Ten Hag facing a crucial period in his Old Trafford tenure. The Red Devils face Brentford and Sheffield United either side of the international break before welcoming Copenhagen in the Champions League later this month. They end their October schedule with a huge Manchester derby against Manchester City at Old Trafford on October 29.
United’s struggles has led to some bookmakers drawing up their list of favourites to become the next United boss if Ten Hag is sacked, and we have run through some of the possible contenders below.
