Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed the latest injury news - with defender Harry Maguire out of Sunday's trip to Liverpool.

United, fresh from being dumped out of Europe in midweek, will, however, be boosted by the return of Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw.

Speaking on Friday, Ten Hag said: "Harry will not be available for coming games, but don’t think he is a long-term (issue). Luke Shaw trained this morning, so we think he’s available for Sunday. Marcus Rashford (is available).”

Meanwhile, title contenders Liverpool were able to rest key players in midweek ahead of the Sunday afternoon Premier League clash.

In midweek, Liverpool opted to leave captain Virgil van Dijk, vice-skipper Trent Alexander-Arnold, talisman Mo Salah and goalkeeper Alisson Becker on Merseyside for their Europa League game. It meant the quartet will all get eight days rest ahead of Manchester United's visit to Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.  Alexis Mac Allister is a doubt because of a nasty cut sustained in the 2-0 win at Sheffield United last week.
