Manchester United are reportedly close to completing two goalkeeper deals as Erik ten Hag looks to provide stern competition for new number one Andre Onana.

The Red Devils manager finally completed a deal for the Internazionale stopper last month and the Cameroon international has started all three of his new side’s Premier League fixtures so far this season. However, there have been several suggestions Ten Hag remained keen to add a second new keeper to his ranks before Friday’s transfer deadline as doubt remains over Dean Henderson’s future at Old Trafford.

The England international spent last season on loan at Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest - although an injury limited him to just 20 appearances for Steve Cooper’s side. There was an expectation Forest could reignite their interest in Henderson and pursue a permanent deal for the 26-year-old but a recent report has suggested they could be beaten to the punch by a Premier League rival after they agreed a deal worth an initial £20million with United.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed Henderson will undergo a medical with the Eagles on Sunday and has suggested United are making progress over a deal for Fenerbache keeper Altay Bayindir as they look to replace the former Sheffield United loanee.

He tweeted: “Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace, here we go! Agreement in place and medical to be completed today — permanent move from Man Utd. United to receive £20m package, add ons included. Sell on clause will be also part of the deal. Bayindir to Man Utd, soon.”

The England defender is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a muscle injury and that has left Erik ten Hag without a natural left-back in his senior ranks. Diogo Dalot started on the left-hand side of the United defence in Saturday’s win against Nottingham Forest but The Telegraph have reported the Red Devils are considering moves for three players to resolve the issue.

The report reveals United have made ‘informal inquiries’ over a possible loan deal for Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella and also have an interest in former Blues defender Marcos Alonso and Tottenham Hotspur’s Spain international Sergio Reguilon.
