United have booked medical tests for the defensive duo after reaching an agreement that will see them both sign for the club this week. If all goes to plan, the pair could both be in the squad to face Fulham in the Premier League on Friday night.

It is understood De Ligt will cost an initial €45m, plus €5m (£39m + £4m), while Mazraoui will cost €15m plus €5m (£13m + £4m). The Dutch defender and the Moroccan full-back will each sign an initial five-year contract with the option of an additional year.

United are set to recoup £15m of that after agreeing to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United. Monday is set to be a very busy day for the club with the potential arrival of two new signings while Wan-Bissaka will also undergo his own medical ahead of the move to the London stadium.

United are still looking to add a midfielder to their squad in the final weeks of the summer transfer window and could pursue a deal to sign Sander Berge from Burnley having reached a standstill in their approach for Paris Saint-Germain star Manuel Ugarte.
