Getafe manager Pepe Bordalas admits his side are unsure what will happen with Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood after his season-long loan with the club comes to an end.

The 22-year-old has been on loan with the Spanish side since United held an internal investigation which concluded that the forward should continue his career elsewhere following his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault.

Greenwood has not played for United since January 2022, after allegations - all strongly denied - were made against him on social media earlier that month. The forward had all charges against him dropped last February but United do not intend to let Greenwood play for or train with them while he is still at the club.

The academy graduate is under contract until 2025 and is expected to leave the club permanently this summer. However, Getafe boss Bordalas says he is yet to be informed on United's plans for the forward.

"We don’t know," he said. "In the end his club has to decide, the intentions they have with the footballer.

"From there we will also know the boy’s intentions for his future. But I can’t tell you. We are happy with his behaviour, his performance and well, now we only think about the next game, which is the game against Sevilla."
