A number of Man Utd players could be allowed to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are not planning to actively sell Marcus Rashford in the summer transfer window but are not ruling out the possibility of him leaving the club entirely.

The club's preference is for Rashford to remain with them for the foreseeable future, though there is an acceptance that they could sanction a sale if a substantial offer arrives and the player makes it clear he would like to leave.

Rashford only signed a new five-year contract at United last July which runs until June 2028, so it would require a club-record sales fee for any prospective buyer to secure his signature.

It follows news that United could allow the majority of their first-team squad to leave at the end of the season, with only a handful of players deemed indispensable by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Ineos Group. Teenage stars Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are two of the names on that list, alongside young striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Rashford, 26, has struggled for consistency throughout the campaign but showcased his obvious world-class talents when he spearheaded their attack with 30 goals in all competitions last season.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding his future over the course of the current campaign, though the elephant in the room is that there does not appear to be an obvious buyer that could match his price-tag as well as his high wage demands.

United are eyeing record player sales in the summer window to help address their tight financial situation, but their willingness to sell players is by no means an indication that the majority of players will leave, particularly given how difficult it would be to replace them.
