There’s no denying Manchester United have signed some awful players in the past, under managers from Sir Alex Ferguson to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Last summer, the club spent over £130m on Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, with no silverware to show for it.
However, there have been significantly worse investments from managers over the years, especially since the departure of Ferguson in 2013.
