Manchester United have a new star to get excited about after Leny Yoro impressed on his competitive debut against Arsenal in midweek.
The French defender was making his first appearance since he was signed for an initial £52 million in the summer window, making him the 10th most expensive signing in the club’s history, as United beat Real Madrid to the signature of one of the most exciting young players in Europe.
Yoro is one of a number of talented youngsters new head coach Ruben Amorim will be tasked with getting the best out of at Old Trafford, though he will also have to find a way to make the most of some huge investments that are yet to pay-off.
Here is a look at the star-studded most expensive starting line up United could currently field, which has cost them £601.5 million in transfer fees already:

5. RWB - Antony (£82m)

6. LWB - Luke Shaw (£27m)

7. CM - Casemiro (£60m)
Erik ten Hag wanted Frenkie de Jong but got Casemiro instead. An excellent debut season was followed by a poor second campaign. He's got obvious quality but the initial fee was way too high. | Manchester United via Getty Images

8. CM - Manuel Ugarte (£42.2m)
Ugarte could yet excel under Amorim and justify the money spent on him. United paid too much for him, but it's not an excessive amount. | Getty Images
