Manchester United have suffered their 61st separate fitness setback of the season after Marcus Rashford missed the Premier League clash with Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

United have made two changes from the side that overcame Coventry City on penalties in the FA Cup semi-final with Antony coming into the side for Rashford and Christian Eriksen selected over Scott McTominay. The Scotland international was named as a major injury doubt for the clash but has been named on the bench.

If they fail to defeat Sheffield United tonight then it will be mathematically impossible for United to finish in the top-four this season, their only chance of Champions League qualification, given the current coefficient rankings.

Rashford's setback means there have now been 61 separate cases of injury and illness that have caused a senior player to miss a competitive match so far this season.

Erik ten Hag has named four academy players on the bench amid the ongoing injury crisis, with Harry Amass, Habeeb Ogunneye, Louis Jackson and Ethan Wheatley all vying to make a historic senior debut. The next academy player to make their competitive debut will become the 250th player from the club's illustrious academy club to do so.

United XI: Onana; Dalot, Maguire, Casemiro; Wan-Bissaka, Mainoo, Eriksen, Fernandes; Garnacho, Antony, Hojlund. Subs: Bayindir, Amass, Ogunneye, Jackson, Amrabat, Amad, McTominay, Forson, Wheatley.
