The former Sunderland loan star has broken into the first team picture at Old Trafford under Erik Ten Hag over the past 12-months and there are high hopes for him at the club. As a result of his progress, fresh reports from the Manchester Evening News claim a new long-term deal is in the offing.

Sky Sports added: “Amad has entered the final year of his deal, but United hold an option to extend by a further 12 months. The report claims the new contract offer will arrive in the coming months after a promising start to the season for the 22-year-old winger.”

Amad, 22, signed a contract until June 2025 when he joined Manchester United in 2021 for £19million in a deal that could be worth up to an additional £18.2million if certain criteria are met. The deal also includes an option to extend for another year

During his time with Manchester United, Amad has spent time on loan with Sunderland and Rangers after initially failing to nail down a first-team position at Old Trafford. Following his loan spell at Sunderland he has been more involved. He has made five club appearances and scored one goal so far this season.
