Manchester United are looking to add three or four players to their squad in the summer transfer window, but face a tough task to do so amid their tight financial situation.
United announced on Monday afternoon there could be a further 200 job cuts this year, following on from the 250 made last year. The club claims these cuts will create a more solid financial platform to invest in men’s and women’s football success and improved infrastructure.
It means money is tight again ahead of the summer transfer window and United will need to sell players to help supplement their budget for new signings. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Casemiro could all be sold to raise funds while Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton could all be released when their respective contracts come to an end.
United hope to add a forward, a right winger, a midfielder and a centre-back to their squad this summer and this is a realistic guess at how they could line up if they address all four issues:
