Mason Mount shone as Manchester United picked up a vital 2-0 win over Sunderland to ease the pressure on Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese head coach made five changes to his starting line up for the match, with Senne Lammens handed his debut for the club in goal.
Mount gave his side the perfect start when he fired in an early opener after a brilliant cross into the box from Bryan Mbeumo to ease any early nerves. United grew in confidence and almost doubled their lead when both Amad and Mbeumo drew decent saves from Robin Roefs, before the keeper pulled off a brilliant stop to deny Bruno Fernandes.
United finally got their second when Benjamin Sesko converted from close range after a long throw into the penalty box from Diogo Dalot. In a low-key second half, there were a few half-chances for either side and Lammens made an important save in the final minutes to make sure of the win.
Here is how we rated the United players on an important day for Amorim.
