Manchester United were uninspiring as they lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final to confirm a trophyless season and no Champions League football. Brennan Johnson scored the only goal to decide a scrappy clash in Bilbao that was tense and low on quality.
Ruben Amorim made one change to his starting line up as Leny Yoro replaced Victor Lindelof in central defence against Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs were the better side in the first-half and led at the break when a combination of Brennan Johnson and Luke Shaw bundled the ball over the line.
United were the better side after the restart and almost equalised when Rasmus Hojlund saw his header cleared off the line by Micky van der Ven, before Bruno Fernandes headed wide of goal. They continued to push in the dying moments of the match but were unable to find anyway through a resolute Tottenham defence. Here is how we rated the United players in Bilbao:

5. Noussair Mazraoui - 5
A difficult night against the pace of the Tottenham defence. He got better as the night went on and played some good balls into the box. A great recovery challenge on Son. | AFP via Getty Images

6. Casemiro - 4
He didn't have as much impact as he would have hoped to have done. Ran ragged on the counter-attack a couple of times. | Manchester United via Getty Images

7. Bruno Fernandes - 5
A frustrating night for the United captain. He enjoyed some good moments on the ball and was a real threat from set-pieces. He should have done better with his header. | AFP via Getty Images

8. Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu - 3
Overawed by the occasion. He switched off for the opening goal and looked nervous. Got better as Spurs sat back. | Manchester United via Getty Images
