Manchester United are already preparing for next season after a disappointing campaign.

Ralf Rangnick failed to turn things around for United, who were forced to settle for Europa League qualification following a sixth-place finish.

But a new era is now beginning, with new boss Erik ten Hag already working having finished with Ajax a little earlier than planned.

Ten Hag knows he needs to significantly improve his squad, and he will have to spend smart, given the amount of areas that need improving.

On that topic, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours.

Milinkovic-Savic links

United continue to be linked with Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić.

According to Corriere dello Sport via SportWitness, Old Trafford remains the ‘main track’ for the midfielder this summer.

United will likely need to replace the departing Paul Pogba, and Milinkovic-Savic could be the man, despite him prefering a Serie A stay, according to the report.

Henderson latest

Newcastle United could be ‘close’ to landing United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe denied reports that a deal was closed last week, but the Chronicle are now saying Henderson is keen on a move to St James’ Park and would prefer a permanent move.

The report claims the player’s camp believe a deal is ‘close’ and that’s despite Howe’s comments last week.

It is worth noting that the Magpies are currently huge, odds-on favourites with the bookies to seal the deal.

Cavani links

Serie A club Salernitana president Danilo Iervolino has confirmed he would like to sign Edinson Cavani this summer.

Cavani will leave Old Trafford at the end of his contract, and Iervolino is hoping to lure him to Italy this summer.

“I’d love to sign Edinson Cavani as free agent,” he said. “Cavani would be an incredible gift for the city, as Salernitana are staying in Serie A.”
