We’ve rounded up today’s January transfer window latest regarding potential incomings and outgoing at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been linked with a new name this month, following reports that interim manager Ralf Rangnick delivered an in-depth assessment of his current squad to new chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough.

According to 90min, the German manager has expressed his desire for the club to monitor Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman.

The centre-back has been ever-present for Bruno Lage’s side this season, playing every game of their Premier League campaign so far.

No 24, Kilman has become an established top-flight defender for the Midlands side and was rewarded with a new contract in November last year, lasting until the summer of 2026.

His performances for Wolves, as well as being a younger option to the Red Devils’ five current senior centre-backs, this could be the key reason that Rangnick has asked United to watch Kilman’s development.

Yves Bissouma

Another name who is rumoured to be on the club’s radar is Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The Mali international is currently away with his country at the Africa Cup of Nations and played the full 90 minutes against Gambia on Sunday in their 1-1 draw.

Bissouma has been a standout performer for Brighton this season under Graham Potter and talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook believes United are ‘crying out’ for him.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he emphasised how the Malian would be a good player for the Red Devils, but thinks due to the club planning to hire a new permanent manager in the summer, he doubts they’ll do any transfer business this month.

He said:“If you look at Manchester United, for example, who are a club for me, who would be crying out for a player like Bissouma.

"But the issue is, targets don’t know who the new manager is going to be come the end of the season, so I’m not sure they’re going to be active this month for that reason.”

The 25-year-old has 18-month remaining on his contract with the Seagulls and is valued at £50m, as per The Athletic, a fee that United are more likely to splash in the summer.

However, it won’t be easy for the club to sign Bissouma with Liverpool and Arsenal also linked with a move for the midfielder.

Paul Pogba

In terms of outgoings, Paul Pogba could depart the Red Devils in the near future for Paris Saint-Germain, in order to try and persuade Kylian Mbappe to remain in the French capital past the end of the season.

Pogba’s contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer and according to ESPN, PSG have been in contact with the Frenchman about a potential move to Ligue 1.

The United No.6 hasn’t featured for his current club since November due to injury, but could be in-line for a return to Rangnick’s starting XI in the near future.

ESPN also claim that, because of Mbappe’s contract also expiring at the end of the campaign, PSG are also trying to bring Zinedine Zidane to the Parc des Princes as their next manager as another plan to try and persuade the forward to sign a new deal at the club.

Pogba is one of several Red Devils’ players who are out of contract in the summer. He is also joined by Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, Lee Grant and Tahith Chong.
