Manchester United are ‘confident’ of agreeing a deal for Wolves star Matheus Cunha ‘soon’, according to TEAMtalk. The report adds that they have offered the attacker a five-year deal. He is said to be on Arsenal and Aston Villa’s radar, along with some unnamed Saudi Arabian teams.
Cunha, 25, could be seen by the Red Devils as someone to boost their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. He would also inject some more quality into their ranks.
The Brazil international has been with Wolves since joining them in 2023 on an initial loan deal that was later made permanent. He has since become their main man and he has scored 31 goals in 68 games in all competitions, 17 of which have come in this campaign. The forward has also had spells in the past at FC Sion, RB Leipzig, Hertha Berlin and Atletico Madrid in the past.
Will Manchester United sign Matheus Cunha?
Wolves will be desperate to keep hold of Cunha amid attention from elsewhere. It remains to be seen whether United will be able to secure his services amid attention from other teams. Amorim will be in the hunt for some new faces and needs more quality to call upon.

Hide AdCunha penned a long-term deal at Molineux earlier this year. At the time, their chairman Jeff Shi said: “Matheus has been on an amazing journey with us over the past two years and it’s been a privilege to see him grow into a big part of the Wolves family.
“Matheus has a good relationship with everyone at Compton Park, his personality is infectious to those around him, and we hope this new contract will provide a boost to the group. We can all see his quality on the pitch, but off it he’s developed into a leader of the group, and we’re delighted that he’s signed a new contract. It’s always important to us that we reward our strongest and most impactful players, and Matheus deserves this new deal.”
Sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “The new contract is a reward for what Matheus has done, and symbolises his importance to us on the pitch. It is something that he's earned because of everything he’s given us and will continue to give us. Matheus loves the club, loves the fans and really appreciates the opportunity the club has given him. The fans have taken him under their wing, and he’s loved being here, so it's been a really positive experience for both sides.”
