Manchester United make Darwin Nunez ‘decision’ as Erik ten Hag ‘enters race’ for Tottenham target
All the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours as Erik ten Hag gets to work on landing new arrivals.
Manchester United are now in full rebuild mode following the appointment of Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford earlier than expected, and he is already kicking on in a bid to hit the ground running in his first season in charge.
There’s a lot for United to improve ahead of next season, coming off the back of a hugely disappointing campaign.
The Red Devils missed out on Champions League football for next season, and qualifying next time around will be priority number one.
United are said to have made a move to sign Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni.
Bastoni has been impressing with the Italian national team, and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, United have now made a move, rivalling Tottenham.
Di Marzio said: “Alessandro Bastoni is liked so much in the Premier League.
“Antonio Conte’s Tottenham has already started contacts with both Inter and the player, without however making a precise offer yet.
“But not only that; in the last few hours Manchester United have also made their move for the 23-year-old.“
United have also been linked with a move for PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare this summer.
But according to Eindhovens Dagblad, via Inside Futbol, the Red Devils are yet to show any concrete interest in the midfielder.
Liverpool and Newcastle have also been linked with Sangare, who is still only 24 years of age, spending the last two years at PSV.
The Red Devils are said to be reluctant to get involved in a bidding war for Benfica star Darwin Nunez.
The striker has been linked with a move for Old Trafford, but reports in Portugal are now claiming Liverpool have agreed an £85million deal, preferring a move to Anfield.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are keen on Nunez, but they don’t want to be sucked into a situation where they are overpaying because of rival interest.
