United lead Nunez race

United are said to be one of the favourites to land in-demand Benfica frontman Darwin Nunez.

Nunez is being linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of this summer, with a number of clubs interested in the Uruguayan.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are currently at the front of the race as they look to find a replacement for Edinson Cavani.

Cavani is expected to leave United at the end of the season.

The Uruguayan, who has struggled with injury this season, is out of contract at Old Trafford, and his deal will not be confirmed.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, United have no plans to keep Cavani and no new contract will be offered ahead of the summer.

Johnstone battle

United are chasing a deal for West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, according to reports.

Johnstone is out of contract at The Hawthorns this summer and is not penning a new contract, according to Sky Sports.
