Manchester United include 17-year-old academy star in training squad as two players return but one misses out

Man Utd team news and confirmed squad members ahead of the Europa League clash with FC Porto.

Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire both took part in Manchester United training on the eve of their Europa League clash with FC Porto, while teenager Jack Fletcher was also included in the session.

United took part in an open training session at their Carrington training ground on Wednesday morning ahead of their flight to Portugal later in the day.

Mainoo limped off in the first-half of United's 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend while defender Harry Maguire missed the match entirely after he suffered a knock in training last week.

However, there was a huge boost for under pressure manager Erik ten Hag with the duo both involved in the session ahead of their second Europa League group stage match.

United youngster Fletcher, son of Darren, also took part in the session as he continues his upwards trajectory since joining the club from fierce rivals Man City a year ago. Fletcher has already been identified as an academy player with a realistic chance of making it into the first-team by club coaches.

Mason Mount didn’t take part in the session as a precaution following his head injury in the weekend defeat to Tottenham and looks unlikely to be involved in the travelling squad for the trip to Portugal later in the day.

Confirmed United squad members:

Onana, Bayindir, Heaton, Mee; Dalot, Lindelof, Malacia, Mazraoui, Martinez, De Ligt, Evans, Maguire; J. Fletcher, Ugarte, Fernandes, Eriksen, Collyer, Mainoo, Casemiro; Antony, Hojlund, Zirkzee, Amad, Garnacho, Rashford.
