Manchester United 'well placed' to sign Gleison Bremer

The Red Devils are 'in the race' to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer, according to a report from Italian sports media outlet Calciomercato. The January transfer window is now behind us, so any potential deals for the player will need to wait until the summer to be completed.

Additionally, should United decide to exercise this option, the Old Lady will not allow Bremer to leave the club without a considerable fee being paid. They have reportedly set an asking price of around £60 million for the 26-year-old - it remains to be see whether United will pay this, though they have shown no reservation in paying massive sums of money for defenders in the past.

Alejandro Garnacho named in WhoScored's team of the week

Argentina starlet Alejandro Garnacho has emphatically burst onto the Premier League scene this season, after showing promising signs the previous year. His performance against West Ham, where the Red Devils won 3-0, was arguably his greatest outing to date.

Garnacho's superb display against the Irons earned him a spot in WhoScored's team of the week - he was the only United to make it into the XI. The 19-year-old scored their 2nd and 3rd goals of the game, with Rasmus Hojlund also etching his name on the score sheet.
