Manchester United’s squad overhaul is well underway and it looks like Erik ten Hag is now targeting a second reunion from his time at Ajax.

According to Goal Brasil, the Red Devils are in talks to sign Antony, after being persistently linked with the winger ahead of the new era at Old Trafford.

The United boss brought Antony to Ajax in 2020 in a deal rising to £18.2 million and he has become one of Europe’s most sought after youngsters, scoring 12 goals and assisting another 10 in all competitions this season.

The report claims that the Brazilian’s representatives have already arrived in Europe with the aim of ‘accelerating’ or ‘closing’ a deal with the Premier League side.

With three years remaining on his contract in Amsterdam, Ajax are expected to demand around £51 million for the 22-year-old and it appears United are open to coughing up the eight-figure fee.

With the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho struggling to make an impact this season, Antony could be seen as the perfect arrival for United if he can keep up his Ajax form in England.

Antony is one of three players that Ten Hag has been rumoured to be hoping to link back up with, with Frenkie de Jong also thought to be nearing a move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are thought to be in discussions to bring the Barcelona midfielder to the Premier League, while The Guardian have reported that the Spanish giants have rejected a £51.3m offer for the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, United have also been heavily linked with Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, however there is talks that he could remain in the Netherlands for another season.
