Manchester United may be pleased to have a small break in the club football calendar, following that costly defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last week.

The international break will give Ralf Rangnick the chance to work on things at the training ground as the team continue to falter.

Araujo boost

According to reports, United are in the ‘best position’ to land Barcelona star Ronald Araujo.

Araujo’s current contract situation at Barcelona is an uncertain one, with his current deal set to expire in 2023, having reportedly rejected three offers.

Sources in Spain on Wednesday claimed the two parties remain far apart in negotiations, and Marca via SportWitness are saying the Red Devils will be the front-runners to sign Araujo, should he opt to leave.

Abraham price tag

United have been linked with a surprise move for Roma striker Tammy Abraham ahead of this summer.

The England international has impressed since leaving Chelsea, scoring 15 goals in 29 league appearances, and he is being tipped for a potential move back to the Premier League.

The big problem, according to the Daily Mail via the Metro, is that he is going to cost around £100million this summer, due to still being under a long-term contract in Rome.

Rudiger update

United could find it difficult to land Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger this summer.

Rudiger is out of contract ahead of next season, and the Red Devils have been linked with a move for him.

But according to BILD, Rudiger would like to speak to United’s new boss before making any potential move to Old Trafford.

The issue there is that United have to find a new boss first, which opens the door for rivals to swoop in and snatch the Germany international.
