Manchester United are closing in on Europa League football following their improved performance over the weekend.

Ralf Rangnick’s men took a point against Chelsea to take advantage of West Ham’s defeat to Arsenal, and they are now three points clear of the Hammers in seventh with three games remaining.

Europa League football certainly wasn’t the aim coming into this season, but it’s a consolation as United look to start afresh next term.

And as preparations begin for another new era at Old Trafford, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news.

Rice boost

United are said to have a clear run at West Ham star Declan Rice this summer.

Rice has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and it’s already clear that the Red Devils will need to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season.

ESPN report United should get a clear run at Rice, with no other rivals likely to test West Ham’s resolve, but it could come down to whether they can convince the midfielder that they are a club ready for success.

De Jong option

Another midfield option could be Frenkie de Jong, with the Dutch midfielder being linked with an Old Trafford switch in recent weeks.

According to Diario AS, Barcelona have decided to put De Jong up for sale ahead of this summer, with a price of £58million.

That would make him a significantly cheaper option than Rice, who could cost around £100million.

Milinkovic-Savic update

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent has rubbished rumours that he has held talks with United ahead of a possible move.

Milinkovic-Savic is one of a number of players to have been linked with a move ahead of this summer, with the Lazio star expected to move on to bigger things in the near future.

But his agent, Mateja Kezman, is having none of the recent rumours.

Kezman told Tuttojuve : “It’s fake news. I have never given interviews in the last period, some journalists are really incredible!

“I’m very angry, it is a lack of respect towards me, towards Sergej and Lazio.”
