Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard’s futures ‘won’t change’ at Manchester United despite the expected appointment of Erik ten Hag, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils duo are among five first-team players who are out of contract this summer and according to Romano, the pair will still depart at the end of the season.

However, with Ten Hag set to be named the club’s new manager after 17 April, as per The Athletic, they are still expected to leave in June.

Romano tweeted: “The imminent appointment of Erik ten Hag won’t change Edinson Cavani’s future at Man United. He’s still expected to leave on a free transfer in June, with La Liga as [a] possible next destination.
“Jesse Lingard is also exploring and considering options on a free transfer.”
Cavani has been plagued with injury this campaign, only featuring 12 times in all competitions, while Lingard has played 19 times.

The latter has struggled for game-time in recent seasons and a move away could prove the best decision for him and United.
Lingard spent the second-half of the last campaign on loan at West Ham United, where he transformed his form, scoring nine goals in 16 games and assisting his teammates on five occasions.

Cavani is in his second season with the Red Devils and despite joining at the age of 34, proved he can be an important player for the club when fit.
The Uruguay international hasn’t featured for Ralf Rangnick’s side since their 1-1 draw with Burnley in February

Both Cavani and Lingard could be joined by Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Lee Grant as players who may leave Old Trafford this summer due to their contracts expiring.
United sit seventh in the Premier League, six points off fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur with seven games remaining.
