Man Utd are looking to loan out a trio of youngsters ahead of transfer deadline day.

Manchester United defender Rhys Bennett is set to join Fleetwood Town on loan before transfer deadline day.

The League Two side have been pursuing a deal for the centre-back for a number of weeks and are expected to complete a season-long loan move before the end of the working week.

Bennett, 20, is eager to get first-team opportunities this season having reached a crossroads in his development where he has largely outgrown youth team football.

The academy youngster captained United to FA Youth Cup victory two years ago, scoring in the final alongside a brace from Alejandro Garnacho. He signed a second professional contract with the club a year ago and was named on the bench for the Premier League away defeat to West Ham last December.

Bennett joined Stockport County on loan in the January transfer window but only made one appearance as they won promotion from League Two and will be hoping for more opportunities under manager Charlie Adam. Fleetwood are currently midtable in League Two with one win and two draws so far this season.

United are also hoping to loan out academy duo Sonny Aljofree and Elyh Harrison this week. Central defender Aljofree spent time on loan with National League side Altrincham last season while goalkeeper Harrison was named the Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year for 2023/24.

In terms of academy arrivals, United are still awaiting Premier League ratification of moves for Crystal Palace winger Samuel Lusale and Arsenal wonderkid Chidozie Obi-Martin. In the case of Obi-Martin, it usually takes six weeks for transfers between two Category One clubs to be processed.
