Manchester United have until the end of the January window to do some business

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has ‘no concerns’ over his future amid reported interest from Chelsea, as per Sky Sports News. The England international is happy at Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old, who has made 10 caps for the Three Lions, has been on the books of the Red Devils for his whole career to date. He rose up through their academy ranks and was a regular at various different youth levels.

Mainoo made his debut back in 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. He has a bright future ahead of him in the game and United will want to keep hold of him for as long as they can.

Kobbie Mainoo latest update at Manchester United

Former boss Erik ten Hag said in the summer: “He collected such good experiences [at the Euros] and those experiences will help him to become a better player, 100 per cent.

"Where do I see him? The perfect midfielder is one who is very good in attacking, very good in defending. He’s a player who can do that. He can play as an attacking midfielder and also as a holding midfielder.

“We have to see from situation to situation and occasion to occasion who is available, the opponents, where we can hurt the opponent or take some strength from the opponent, where we use the players. So with Kobbie, we can use him as an attacking midfielder or a holding midfielder. In approaching games, this is what’s needed."

Mainoo played for England at Euro 2024 and helped them reach the final of the tournament in Germany under Gareth Southgate. However, they lost to Spain in Berlin.

The Stockport-born man is under contract until June 2027 meaning his current club are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon. It would be a blow to lose him, especially to a team like Chelsea in the same league.

He has made 52 appearances for United so far and has chipped in with five goals. It has taken him a while to get going this term but he looked back to his best against Liverpool.

Manchester United Kobbie Mainoo worry outlined

Paul Scholes has highlighted the fact he doesn’t play 90 minutes as often as he should. He told Premier League Productions: "Mainoo with his legs has to be a worry. He doesn't finish a lot of games."

Mainoo is able to impact matches when he plays to his potential though and will be eager to hit some form. Ruben Amorim’s side drew 2-2 away at Liverpool last time out and are back in action this weekend in the FA Cup against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Amorim has admitted he has been ‘mad’ about their recent showings and has said: “I get more mad because of the other games. It's even harder to understand some things.

“This is not about the system, it's about something else. It's hard to understand even for the coach. We should get mad and disappointed - more than the other day, against Newcastle, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest. Today we need to be really disappointed.

"[I haven't told my players this yet] because I need to calm down and say the right thing. We are in a difficult moment. It's hard to not get really mad. I'm happy for the performance and the result - but I'm really really mad about the other games."
