Man Utd player ratings from the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City at Wembley Stadium

Manchester United will face Man City in the FA Cup final next month after they just about overcame Coventry City on Sunday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag's side looked well on course for a second successive FA Cup final before they threw away a comfortable three-goal lead in the closing stages of the match to take the game to extra-time.

United had already wasted a few decent opportunities before Scott McTominay put them ahead in the first-half, as the Scotland midfielder tapped in from close range following a brilliant low cross by Diogo Dalot.

The Portuguese defender also made the difference at the other end when he slid in to deny Ellis Simms what would have been an easy tap-in to the United goal. A second goal looked like it would be enough to end the contest, and United got one on the stroke of half-time when Harry Maguire headed in from a Bruno Fernandes corner.

Coventry responded well after the break but did little to test Andre Onana in the United goal and what little hope they had of a comeback seemed to be killed just before the hour mark when Fernandes fired in a third.

This United side don't do things easy though. The Championship side continued to rally in search of a memorable goal to cap their excellent FA Cup run and they got what they deserved with twenty minutes left when Simms fired into the near-post after an excellent cross by Fabio Tavares.

It wasn't to be a consolation either. A deflected effort from Callum O'Hare took them within a goal of United and deep into stoppage time they grabbed an almighty equalisier when Haji Wright levelled from the penalty spot after a harsh handball against Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

What followed was an enthralling 30 minutes of added time in which both sides hit the crossbar but neither was able to find a winner before a penalty shootout decided the tie. Andre Onana saved from O’Hare and captain Ben Sheaf blazed over the bar before Rasmus Hojlund netted the winner for his side.

Here is how we rated the United players in the semi-final win....
