Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth in their Premier League meeting on Saturday evening.
Erik ten Hag named an unchanged team from the side that drew with Liverpool last weekend, with Marcus Rashford fit enough to start the match amid another injury blow for Antony.
Bournemouth began the match brightly with their high-press troubling United, and got the goal they deserved when Dominic Solanke beat Willy Kambwala and finished into the bottom corner. The goal only spurred the home side on more and they twice came close to a second goal, first when Luis Sinisterra fired just wide of the far-post, and then when Milos Kerkez shot straight at Andre Onana.
United responded well though, and soon they would find a leveller when Bruno Fernandes finished emphatically from close range after some bright build-up play on the right wing. It didn't last long. Bournemouth were by far the better side throughout the first-half and regained a deserved lead when Justin Kluivert cut inside from the left wing and fired past Andre Onana at the near-post.
United were lucky to head into the break just a goal behind when Kerkez headed against the bar and when Onana saved sharply from Kluivert. Ten Hag changed things at half-time when Amad came on for the underwhelming Alejandro Garnacho.
Bournemouth continued to enjoy the better of things after the restart but they were made to rue their missed chances when Adam Smith handled in the box after a deflected effort from Kobbie Mainoo. Fernandes made no mistake with a cool penalty that sent Neto the wrong way.
United got a better grip of things in the closing stages of the match, but created little of their own and had a lot of defending to do against the Bournemouth bombardment.
In the end, a point was probably the fair result but it did United few favours in their quest for Champions League football after Tottenham had been thrashed earlier in the day.
