Man Utd vs Wolves injury news as six ruled out and two doubts - gallery

Manchester United are expected to be without five players for Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United will hope to put distance between themselves and the chasing pack for the top four when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The West Midlands club head to Old Trafford for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, with third-place Newcastle United travelling to Leeds United in the lunch-time kick-off. As for Liverpool, they host relegation-threatened Leicester City on Monday, meaning United could establish a five-point gap to Jurgen Klopp’s side before they next play.

There’s also Brighton & Hove Albion to consider, who hold an outside chance of clinching the final Champions League place, although defeat to Arsenal on Sunday would significantly weaken their hopes.

As for Wolves, they have pulled away from the drop zone thanks to four wins in the last six, including last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Molineux. However, Wolves’ form has been less reliable on the road and Julen Lopetegui’s side lost 6-0 away to Brighton in their last away game. In fact, Wolves have lost four of the last five away games with the most recent win on their travels coming on Boxing Day.

Having hit the 40-point mark last week, Erik ten Hag will hope the opposition have somewhat taken their eye off the ball, especially with a 10-point gap to 18th place.

When the sides last met, Marcus Rashford’s late strike proved to be the only goal of the game. However, Wolves did win away to United last season with Joao Moutinho’s 82nd-minute winner handing them a first win at Old Trafford since 1980.

But what about team news? Ahead of the game, we’ve rounded up the latest on eight players who may miss the Premier League encounter…
