Man Utd ‘hold talks’ with 33-goal forward as £64m transfer links continue to intensify amid big wage demands
Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have reportedly already held discussions with Nigerian international Victor Osimhen over a potential move to Old Trafford in the summer.
United are expected to be in the market for all kinds of targets this summer but the main priority is thought to be a centre forward after a lacklustre league campaign which has seen the team score 42 goals across 35 matches this season.

Hide AdRasmus Hoijlund has managed just four league goals across the entire campaign and has struggled to achieve expectations while summer addition Joshua Zirkzee has scored just three league goals and is looking increasingly likely to be moved into a deeper midfield role next term.
United boss Ruben Amorim is believed to have made it crystal clear that he needs a prolific centre forward to take his team forward and there are few available with a better track record than Osimhen, who is expected to be on the move this summer.
Man Utd hold talks with Victor Osimhen
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has claimed that United have already held discussions with Victor Osimhen. The outlet explains that Red Devils chiefs met with the players representatives last Monday to discuss the striker’s wage demands and United’s ambitions for next season and beyond.
Foot Mercato explains: “For his part, the 26-year-old is tempted by the Premier League. In truth, it’s the only league capable of supporting the player’s incredible salary of €12 million per year.”

Hide AdFabrizio Romano reports the forward is likely to demand a transfer away from Napoli after spending time on loan at Galatasaray this season and claims the forward is willing to accept wages of just under £200,000 per week if he was to move to an English club. Which is the same salary he is currently on.
Why are Man Utd interested in Victor Osimhen?
Ruben Amorim is desperate to get his hands on a proven goalscorer to catapult his team up the league table after a desperately poor domestic campaign. In Osimhen, he’d potentially be getting his hands on one of the best finishers in Europe based on his track record over the past five seasons.
The Nigerian international rose to prominence in the French league with Lille when he scored 18 goals in 38 appearances to help the team to a fourth place finish. He then made a name for himself in Italy when he signed for Napoli in 2020 and has since scored 76 goals in 133 appearances across all competitions while also being a contributor to those around him with an impressive 17 assists.
Osimhen was the catalyst behind the club’s first league title since 1990 back in 2023 and was regarded as one of the very best in Italian football due to his explosive speed, strength and clinicality in front of goal.

This season, he’s found the net 33 times in 37 appearances across all competitions in Turkey. He’s believed to command a 74 million euro price tag, which equates to around £63.9m.
