The late stages of this summer’s transfer window have taken on a whole new significance for Manchester United in the wake of their disastrous start to the Premier League season.
New manager Erik ten Hag will be eager to draft in the reinforcements needed to arrest his side’s recent slump, and the expected signing of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, as confirmed by the club themselves on Friday evening, would suggest that progress is being made in that regard.

Check out all the latest United-related speculation below...
United eye Hakimi
United have “turned their attention” to signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, according to Football Insider.
The Red Devils are understood to be in the market for reinforcements at right-back amid lingering doubts of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future at Old Trafford, with the report claiming that a new addition in that position is a “key priority” for Erik ten Hag.

Barcelona are also credited with an interest in the player, who sign for PSG from Inter Milan in a deal worth around £60 million last summer.
Dalot targeted by Barca
In other right-back speculation, Barcelona have reportedly initiated discussions over a potential deal for United defender Diogo Dalot.
According to an update by Spanish outlet Fichajes, negotiations have already been established between the two clubs, with the Catalan giants regarding a new right-sided defender as a “great priority” in the late stages of the window.

United offered Meunier
Rounding out a decidely defensive set of rumours, United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Belgian defender Thomas Meunier from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund this summer.
According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 30-year-old has been proposed as a potential recruit to both the Red Devils and, you guessed it, Barceona in recent weeks.
Dortmund seem relucant to sell, however, with director Sebastian Kehl being quotes as saying: “We currently see no reason to sell Meunier.
“That’s not in our plans.”
Romano also claims that no official bids for the player have been tabled at this stage.
