Brazil have been drawn in Group G for the tournament along with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon, and have selected a 26-man squad for the friendlies, which will likely form the basis of the group that is selected in Qatar.

The inclusion of Casemiro, Fred and Antony was expected, although Fred’s lack of game-time may have been a concern for manager Tite.

He’s also called up Ederson from Manchester City, the Premier League champions’ only representative in the squad.

However, ex-Blue Gabriel Jesus is a surprising omission given his impressive start to the new season, while Gabriel Martinelli has also missed out, along with Philippe Coutinho of Aston Villa.
