The WSL January transfer window has certainly been one of the most intriguing of all time - and now Manchester United have finally joined the party with the confirmed signing of Jayde Riviere.

At the start of the start, Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner admittied his squad was “not done yet” and it widely expected that the club will enter the market further this winter - though the boss was insistent that he would only do so for “the right player”.

With media scrunity bigger than ever in the women’s top tier of English football, the transfer rumours are hotting up and United are already linked with a number of high profile names across Europe. There’s plenty rumours of outgoings too, with key players like Ona Batlle, Alessia Russo and Vilde Boe Risa linked with moves out of Manchester as they approach the last six months of their current deals.

It is certain to be an interesting time for the club’s fans with the club hopeful they can strengthen following a a very positive first half of the season that saw them lose just one league game. Estelle Cascarino (Paris SG) - Culture PSG credited United with an interest at the beginning of the month and the club confirmed her loan signing on January 21.

Lisa Naalsund (Brann) - The Norway international was reported to be in negotionations with Man Utd on January 5, with Norwegian site BA citing a fee of around £160k has been lodged by the club. The player spoke about her reservations of joining after citing game time as a factor in her decision - but joined the club on January 24.

Melchie Dumornay (Stade de Reims) - The 19-year-old Haitian midfielder was linked to the club on new year’s day, with reports stating a number of clubs will enquire about her in this window, with Manchester City having also enquired. She joined Champions League winners Lyon on January 16 though, signing a deal until 2026.

Justine Vanhaevermaet (Reading) - The Belgian playmaker was linked as far back as November, with rumours in Sweden indicating there was interest in the midfielder. However, the move looks very unlikely to happen with Marc Skinner claiming, at present, he has no interest in the attacking midfielder.

Jayde Riviere (Free agent) - Popular women’s football site Soccerdonna claimed United were interested in the Canadian international full back at the beginning of the window and she was confirmed a Manchester United player on January 21, signing a two and a half year contract.

Debinha (Free agent) - The 31-year-old Brazilian was available on a free transfer after leaving NWSL side North Caroline Courage recently and was been linked with several different clubs, one of which is United as per ATA Football. She was most strongly linked with Arsenal but ended up joining Kansas City.

Hanna Wijk (BK Hacken) - Another teenage fullback that has been linked with the club the young Swedish full back, though it was reported by Fotbollskanalen on 2 January that Hacken had yet to receive a serious offer for her services. It is thought United’s interest goes back further than this month but it appears unlikely a deal with be completed this January.

Kathrine Kühl (FC Nordsjælland) - Denmark’s teenage star has since completed a move to Arsenal. However, one online publication had linked her to other WSL clubs before the move and named Manchester United as one that had ruled themselves of the race.

Jordan Nobbs (Arsenal) - While there was no confirmed interest in the midfielder, this rumour appeared to pick up some traction online with several Twitter users just before the new year before she completed a permanent move to Carla Ward’s Aston Villa. Whether or not there is interest was there is anyone’s guess.
