Manchester United are already busy preparing for the new season as they look to put together a Premier League title bid.

Erik ten Hag managed to lead United to significant progress last season, but expectations will only raise as a result of those improvements, and the Dutchman is likely to be backed in this window, even if the club do have to ensure they balance the books, especially after kicking off their window by splashing out £60million on Mason Mount.

Here we round up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Onana boost

United appear to be closer than ever to signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, ending their search for a David De Gea replacement.

According to Sport Mediaset Onana is now ‘one step away’ from joining United and saying goodbye to Inter with the two clubs said to be close to reaching an agreement. The discussions appear to be hovering around £50million, with bonuses also being discussed, but it seems a deal will be reached given how close the two clubs now find themselves when it comes to the fee.

Onana has been one of the standout keepers in Europe over recent times, and United find themselves in desperate need of a keeper after allowing De Gea to leave.

Greenwood ‘solution’

United seem to have found a possible temporary solution to the Mason Greenwood situation.

Greenwood hasn’t played for United since the start of January due to legal issues, and United have kept him away from their squad to avoid any bad publicity and to make sure they investigate the issues themselves regardless of what conclusions the legal system have reached - with charges ultimately being dropped. But there now seems to be interest from Serie A club Atalanta.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United have already held extensive talks with Atalanta over a possible loan deal for Greenwood ahead of the new season.
