Man Utd training: 25 players spotted ahead of Liverpool game, 11 missing including key duo

Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial were once again missing from Manchester United’s training video ahead of the Premier League clash with Liverpool.

The pair have been absent for both of United’s opening games of the Premier League season through injury, and are huge doubts for the upcoming clash with Jurgen Klopp’s side on Monday.

The Red Devils put out a training video and gallery on Wednesday evening, which is likely to have been from the session at Carrington earlier that day, and the majority of first-team players were seen.

Harry Maguire, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo were all spotted, while youngsters Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal, Ethan Galbraith, Alejandro Garnacho and Charlie McNeill were involved.

The latter hasn’t been regularly seen in Erik ten Hag’s squad since he took over as manager, and McNeill’s presence could be another hint that Martial may miss out.

Assuming the Frenchman is injured, Ronaldo is Ten Hag’s only senior option up front, meaning McNeill might be drafted in as a back-up forward.

James Garner was also involved in the latest session, despite speculation mounting about his future.

Who wasn’t pictured?

David de Gea wasn’t seen in Wednesday’s video or gallery, although United have since confirmed to ManchesterWorld that he was present for the lastest session.

As well as Lindelof and Martial, the injured Brandon Williams and Facundo Pellistri weren’t spotted, nor was Hannibal, who has gained interest from Birmingham City and other Championship sides regarding a potential loan move.

He was actually involved in Under-21 training on Wednesday, as was Shola Shoretire, while Tahith Chong also wasn’t spotted in the training footage.

Nor was Phil Jones, who remains on a bespoke fitness programme, while Axel Tuanzebe was also working away from the group as he continues to recover from injury.
