United are reportedly monitoring the progress of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis MacAllister ahead of a potential transfer swoop this summer. The Reds Devils are believed to be ‘keeping watch’ of his situation, according to a report by the Daily Mail, with the Seagulls along with rivals Manchester City and Liverpool as the trio look to bolster their respective squads in the next transfer window.

MacAllister, who is 24-years-old, helped Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar last winter alongside Lionel Messi. He has been playing his football at the AMEX Stadium since 2019 but his current club face a real battle to keep hold of him long-term amid interest from some big teams.

Winger to be looked at

United will take a look at winger Amad Diallo over pre-season with the youngster poised to return from his Sunderland loan spell at the end of this campaign. The 20-year-old has scored 12 goals for the Championship club.

The Black Cats’ boss Tony Mowbray has said: “Man United are happy, but I think the next step is for them to take him on pre-season to America. That’s what I think is going to happen. Then they’ll see how he gets on.

“They know what they’ve got, they bought him, but I think when the new manager came in, it was right on the cusp of whether they were going to keep him or not.”
