Man Utd to make summer move for promising Aston Villa youngster - with others expected to follow

Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for a promising Aston Villa defender this morning.

Marc Skinner’s table topping Red Devils were this morning linked with a move for promising 17-year-old Aston Villa defender Evie Rabjohn, as per MailSport.

The promising England under-19 international is understood to have been identified by the Manchester United recruitment team as a star of the future having already turned out in the Women’s Super League for the Villains three times this season.

It is believed that Rabjohn, who doesn’t turn 18 until later this month, would be available without any compensation needing to be paid to her parent club due to her age - and United are ready to pounce to secure her signature as they continue to “future proof” the team by snapping up a number of young starlets.

Last season saw United draft in highly rated Everton youngster Grace Clinton, who has shone for Bristol City on loan this summer, and the club see signing young stars of the future of pivotal to their progression.

A product of Sutton Coldfield College, Rabjohn was named their Sportswoman of the Year in 2022 and made her senior debut for Carla Ward’s side back in 2021 when she started in the 2-1 League Cup defeat to Sheffield United. She then made her league debut in September when she replaced Rachel Daly in a 2-1 win over Leicester City which subsquently saw her receive her first call up to the Lionesses under-19 squad.

The club also hold an interest in Brighton forward Katie Robinson, though it is believed they will face tough competition for neighbours Manchester City who have a long held interest in the Lionesses player. United have also cast their net as far as Scotland too in the search for young talent, with one young Scottish international already targeted.
