Begovic on United radar

United have targeted Everton goalkeeper Asmir Begovic as they continue their search for a deputy to David de Gea this season, according to The Telegraph.

The Red Devils allowed Dean Henderson to head out on loan to Nottingham Forest this summer, and it is understood that Erik ten Hag regards Tom Heaton as a third-choice option rather than a suitable number two.

For his part, Begovic is entering the final year of his contract at Goodison Park, although it is suggested that the possibility of a move is largely dependent on Everton’s ability to find a replacement in the latter stages of the transfer window.

United eye Lozano

United are interested in signing Hirving Lozano from Napoli, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Red Devils are in the market for attacking reinforcements, and have been frustrated in their pursuits of a number of high-profile talents.

As such, Mexican international Lozano has emerged as a potential target, with United enquiring about his current situation.

It is understood that the winger is happy at Napoli, but it is claimed that a convincing offer from United could convince him to think twice on his position.

De Jong could still be swayed

Long-term United target Frenkie de Jong has already told the club that he wants to remain with Barcelona this summer, but the player could still change his mind, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils’ pursuit of the Dutchman has become one of the transfer sagas of the summer, with developments in recent days seemingly suggesting that the club have abandoned any lingering hopes of luring the player to Old Trafford.

But according to Romano, there is still a slim chance that he could alter his stance in the coming days.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “From what I’m told, the player is still telling his agents, Barcelona and all the clubs approaching him that he wants to continue there.

“So, in a few moments, he could change his mind and maybe it could change. But as of now, he’s still focusing on Barca.

“I’m not so sure that it’s only Man United who are in for Frenkie De Jong.”
