Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Sevilla regarding a loan deal for midfielder Hannibal Mejbri. United triggered an option to extend Hannibal's contract for a further year earlier this month, with his original deal set to expire in the summer. A more long-term decision will be made on the 20-year-old's future after this season but all parties feel a temporary move would bring more game time between now and June.

ManchesterWorld understands that several clubs from the Premier League and across Europe are interested in taking Hannibal on loan for the second-half of the campaign. Recent reports have named Everton as a potential suitor in England but Sky Sports has put Sevilla as front-runners.

They add that talks are underway over a deal that would see the Tunisian move to Sevilla on loan. There is no mention of a permanent option or obligation.

Hannibal has only started four games across all competitions this season and despite impressing during a brief period in the autumn, hasn't been in a first-XI since November 1. Minutes will likely be limited further in 2024, with United's fixture schedule eased amid elimination from the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Midfielders Casemiro and Mason Mount will both return from long-term injuries soon while Christian Eriksen is also back from a month-long layoff with a knee injury - he missed Monday's FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic but that was due to illness.

Kobbie Mainoo was absent for much of the first-half of the season but the 18-year-old earned his first Premier League start against Everton in November and has been a regular starter since. It leaves Hannibal in a position where minutes will be negligible at Old Trafford and so a move is thought to benefit everyone.

The midfielder is one of several being linked with a move away from Manchester, most of whom will be on loan. Jadon Sancho looks set to return to Borussia Dortmund after being exiled from the first-team by Erik ten Hag and United are thought to have committed to paying £100,000 of the winger's £290,000-per-week wages.

Facundo Pellistri is also attracting interest as he looks for more regular football. PSV Eindhoven have made an approach to take the Uruguayan on loan for the rest of the campaign.
