The international break usually sees the spotlight move away from Premier League clubs for a couple of weeks but that does not look to be the case for Manchester United this month.

As reported by Manchester World this morning, the long-awaited Sir Jim Ratcliffe takeover is set to be finalised by the time Erik ten Hag's side travel to Everton at the end of the month.

Here's your Friday evening takeover round-up.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe may have decided Erik ten Hag future

The Express reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is 'primed' to take a hammer to the Manchester United club structure but that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag could survive the new shareholder's arrival.

The Dutchman is already under pressure after a series of disappointing home losses this season and a lack of consistency, with many pointing to a change of management coming once the takeover deal is completed.

However, the outlet believes that Ten Hag did enough last season to convince Sir Jim that he is the man for the Manchester United job, with his career history at Ajax also at the forefront of the INEOS chief.

Sir Jim wants answers to £1.4bn spending

One of the first questions Sir Jim Ratcliffe will ask when he arrives at the club is how the club have blown £1.4 billion in the transfer market and yet remain in an unsettled position on the pitch.

The Sun reports that the business tycoon is not impressed with the club's scouting network and Sir Jim wants to put a stop to that spending seen since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

CEO Richard Arnold, football director John Murtough and director of football operations David Harrison are all in 'jeopardy' when the takeover deal goes through with answers needed for what has gone wrong since the exit of previous chief Ed Woodward.

Man Utd fans to protest vs Luton Town

A partial Manchester United takeover deal may be nearing completion but Red Devils supporters are still expected to hold a protest during the club's meeting with Luton Town on Saturday.

The Mirror reports that the 1958 have called on supporters to form an hour-long peaceful protest during the fixture against the Premier League strugglers with the United fanbase still unhappy about the Glazers' continued involvement in the club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to buy a 25% stake in Manchester United and, although he plans to eventually take full control, will work alongside the current owners to begin with.
