Last time out, Manchester United were humiliated at Old Trafford by Bournemouth, as they lost by a wide score line of 3-0 - signifying just how far the Red Devils have fallen since the departure of Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Something has to change at United - and Gary Neville has given his views on what must happen. When Jim Ratcliffe arrives at the club, Neville believes that he must revamp their scouting process by hiring an experienced head of recruitment and a sporting director.

Additionally, Neville also writes that Ten Hag should not be removed from his position, believing that he is not the problem. He backs up this argument that chopping and changing head coaches in the past has done little for the Red Devils' overall fortunes.

What did Gary Neville say regarding the Glazers' tenure at Manchester United?

Writing for Sky Sports, Neville said: "We've seen it with Ole, Jose and Louis van Gaal. But there's no way they should change Ten Hag this season. This idea of sacking him is an absolute nonsense. I wouldn't be in favour of that anyway. I know people say, 'you can't blame the Glazers' - yes, you can! Because it's 10 years of failure and miserable recruitment.

"It's the hardest job in football getting recruitment precise. But if you get it wrong £300m-£400m at a time, three or four times in 10 years, that is complete, ultimate failure and that's down to the owners for not dealing with that. And that's why Jim Ratcliffe is going to come in and all the reports say he's going to take over the sporting department.

"Why do you think the Glazer family are going to allow someone to come in, they're still the majority shareholders, and let someone else take over the most important aspect of a football club, which is football? Because they know they can't do it."
